Quinnipiac junior defenseman Loren Barron (Glendora, California) is the “B” in InsideCollegeHockey.com’s INCH A-Z. INCH A-Z is a preseason feature by Joe Gladiszewski for the college hockey website that highlights a different player, based on a letter in their name. In the past, Zack Currie, Dan Henningson and Jamie Bates have been featured on the website.
Barron is coming off an impressive second season with the Bobcats. The defenseman from Glendora, Calif. became the first defenseman to lead the Bobcats in assists (17) since three-time All-American Reid Cashman accomplished the feat in each of his final three years at Quinnipiac. Barron also led the Blue-and-Gold in plus/minus (+17) and was the team’s highest-scoring defenseman.
Quinnipiac opens the 2011-12 season on Sunday, Oct. 2 when they host Acadia for an exhibition game at 4 p.m. at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Conn. The Bobcats will then travel to Columbus, Ohio to take on Ohio State University in a two-game weekend series on Oct. 7-8 before returning home for a four-game homestand against Holy Cross (10/12), Canisius (10/15, 10/16) and Bentley (10/18).
