Former Quinnipiac men's ice hockey captain Scott Zurevinski has signed a contract with the American Hockey League's (AHL) Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the top affiliate of the National Hockey League's (NHL) Pittsburgh Penguins.
Zurevinski previously attended the Penguins' developmental camp last summer before returning to Quinnipiac for his senior season. After completing his playing career this past season at Quinnipiac, Zurevinski signed with the AHL's St. John's IceCaps, the top affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets. Zurevinski appeared in eight games for the IceCaps.
Zurevinski completed a four-year career with the Bobcats, totaling 92 points, on 46 goals and 46 assists, in 155 career games, the fourth most in Quinnipiac history. Zurevinski was the seventh junior in Quinnipiac ice hockey history to be named captain and was also named the program's Rookie of the Year in 2008-09. Prior to coming to Quinnipiac, Zurevinski played for the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL).
