Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey Ranked 9th In USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Polls

Quinnipiac men's ice hockey has been ranked in the Top-10 in both national polls for the first time since Dec. 14, 2009. The Bobcats are currently ranked 9th in the USCHO.com Division I poll and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, as released earlier today.

Quinnipiac's 10-game (9-0-1) undefeated streak is currently the second longest in the nation, trailing Niagara's 11-game unbeaten streak. The Bobcats ran their perfect ECAC Hockey record to 8-0-0 with a two-game sweep of league travel partner Princeton this past weekend. The Bobcats took the first game of the weekend, 3-1 on Friday, Dec. 7, at High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center in front of 3,200 fans in attendance, in addition to the vast television audience by courtest of New England Sports Network (NESN).  The Bobcats then headed to Hobey Baker Memorial Rink in Princeton, N.J. where it shut-out the Tigers, 3-0.

Senior Jeremy Langlois (Tempe, Ariz.) factored into four of Quinnipiac's six goals on the weekend, tallying two goals and an assist on Friday night before picking up an assist on Saturday nights. Mike Dalhuisen (Nymegen, Holland) scored twice in Saturday's game while Clay Harvey (Gull Lake, Saskatchewan) and Russell Goodman (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) both had a goal and an assist on the weekend.

Eric Hartzell (White Bear Lake, Minn.), ECAC Hockey's reigning Goalie of the Month for November while also receiving weekly honors on Monday, Dec. 2, stopped 11 of Princeton's 12 shots on Friday night before following with his fourth shutout of the season on Saturday night. In doing so, Hartzell also tied Bud Fisher '06 for the most career shutouts (9).

Quinnipiac now enters their three-week break as the fall semester comes to a close but Bobcat fans will have plenty of opportunities to catch the men's team in action as they begin a series of seven straight home games between Dec. 29 – Jan. 22. The Bobcats will begin their home stand with a non-conference series with Nebraska-Omaha at the High Point Solutions Arena on Dec. 29-30.
