Quinnipiac men's ice hockey sophomore goalie Michael Garteig was recently profiled by Joshua Seguin in a feature on CollegeHockeyNews.com.
Michael Garteig improved to 3-1-0 on the season with the sweep of UMass Lowell. On Friday, Oct. 18, Garteig stopped 21 of UMass Lowell's 22 shots on goal in a 3-1 win at Tsongas Arena. On Saturday, Oct. 19, in the Bobcats' home opener, Garteig stopped 23 of the River Hawks' 24 shots on goal in another 3-1 win. He improves to 3-1-0 with a 1.51 goals-against average and a .958 save percentage. Nationally, Garteig was one of five goals in NCAA Division I hockey to pick up two wins this past weekend, and the only one to beat a ranked team twice.
Quinnipiac will face Bentley on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. at High Point Solutions Arena before also facing Holy Cross this weekend. The Bobcats will travel to Worcester, Mass. on Friday, Oct. 25 before hosting the Crusaders on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 4 p.m.
