Quinnipiac Men’s Ice Hockey Announces Departure Of Peter Quenneville For WHL

Quinnipiac men's ice hockey head coach Rand Pecknold has announced that freshman Peter Quenneville (Edmonton, Alberta) has quit the team and withdrawn from Quinnipiac University, as of Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013. Pecknold acknowledges that Quenneville will play for the Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings with his younger brother John Quenneville.

"We wish Peter all the best as he moves on.  Peter wants to focus only on hockey and here at Quinnipiac University our players are committed to excellence in both hockey and academics. We were surprised by his decision to leave."

Quenneville appeared in five games for the Bobcats in 2013-14, totaling four assists, including a two-point night against Bentley in a 4-3 win on Oct. 22.

Quinnipiac, ranked 5th in the most recent USCHO.com Division I Poll, returns to action on Friday, Nov. 8 when it hosts Brown for an ECAC Hockey match-up at 7 p.m. at High Point Solutions Arena. On Saturday, Nov. 9, the Bobcats host No. 9 Yale for the 12th Annual Heroes Hat Game, which can be seen live on Fox College Sports (FCS Pacific) and WCCT-20.
