Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey Ranked 3rd In USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Division I Polls On Monday, Jan. 27

Quinnipiac men's ice hockey continued its rise in the national polls, moving up from fourth on Jan. 20 to the No. 3 spot in the latest polls, released on Monday, Jan. 27.  

The Bobcats were idle this past weekend but benefitted from up-and-down play from the nation's other top-10 teams. This marks the 15th consecutive week that the Bobcats have been ranked in the top 10 nationally. Quinnipiac is currently 18-4-5 overall and 8-2-3 in ECAC Hockey play. The Bobcats currently lead the country in scoring defense, as they are one of two teams in the nation to allow fewer than two goals per game. The Bobcats have allowed 52 goals in 27 games for a 1.93 team goals-against-average.

Quinnipiac is also one of eight teams to average 3.50 goals per game as their 3.52 average ranks fourth nationally, while its 1.59 scoring margin is good for third nationally. Quinnipiac's penalty kill percentage (90.3) sits in second place behind Boston College's 90.5% while its 21.9% on the power play puts them in ninth place, which also places Quinnipiac in seventh place in combined special teams (53.3%). Quinnipiac is tied for the most wins (18) in college hockey, while its .759 winning percentage ranks third.
