Quinnipiac bounced back after losing three-straight games and falling to the eighth spot in the rankings with a two-position jump to the No. 6 slot in the USCHO.com Division I poll on Monday, Mar. 3.
Quinnipiac wrapped up the regular-season with a 8-0 romp at St. Lawrence before a 1-1 tie at Clarkson on Saturday night. The Bobcats wrapped up the regular season with a record of 22-8-6 including a 12-6-4 record in the ECAC Hockey standings. The Bobcats captured the third seed in the upcoming ECAC Hockey Championship Tournament, set to begin this weekend. The Bobcats will host a quarterfinal series on Mar. 14-16 at High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center.
- Matthew Peca had a memorable weekend, posting the only six-point performance of the 2013-14 season in NCAA Division I hockey. Peca had two goals and four assists in the Bobcats' 8-0 win at St. Lawrence. In the process, he tied the Quinnipiac record for points in a game, while also becoming the 37th player in QU history and the 23rd at the Division I level to reach the 100 point mark. In addition, he became the first junior since Brandon Wong in 2008-09 to reach the century mark. Peca picked up his seventh point of the weekend on Quinnipiac's only goal in a 1-1 tie at Clarkson. Peca led all NCAA Division I players in points (7), assists (5), power play assists (3)and power play points (4) for the weekend.
- Michael Garteig allowed one goal over 124:56 in goal over two games this weekend for a 0.48 goals-against average. Garteig blanked St. Lawrence on Friday, stopping all 24 of the Saints' shots on goal, for his Quinnipiac record sixth shutout of the season. Garteig then held Clarkson to one goal on Saturday night. For the year, Garteig leads NCAA hockey in wins (22) and is second in shutouts with six. He also carries a 1.84 GAA.
- Sam Anas had a goal and two assists in a 1-0-1 week for the Bobcats, leading all ECAC Hockey freshman. Anas had a goal and an assist in Quinnipiac's 8-0 win at St. Lawrence before setting up Connor Jones with the Bobcats' only goal in a 1-1 tie at Clarkson. Anas' three-point weekend pushed his season totals to an NCAA freshmen leading 19 goals and 40 assists.
