Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey Announces 2014-15 Schedule

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey head coach Rand Pecknold has announced the program's 2014-15 schedule. The Bobcats' slate for the upcoming season features 17 home games at High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center.

Quinnipiac will host Acadia for an exhibition game on Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. The Bobcats will then host Bentley on Homecoming Weekend for their regular-season home opener on Oct. 11. Oct. 17-18 sees a home-and-away series against UMass Lowell with the River Hawks hosting the Bobcats on Friday night before the Bobcats host UMass Lowell on Saturday. The weekend features the first two of five consecutive games against Hockey East opponents as the Bobcats then face UConn on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Following the game against UConn is a weekend series against Northeastern on Nov. 1-2 at High Point Solutions Arena.  

Quinnipiac opens ECAC Hockey play when it hosts Colgate on Friday, Nov. 7 and Cornell on Saturday, Nov. 8. The Bobcats then face 2014 NCAA National Champion Union in Schenectady, New York on Friday, Nov. 14 before wrapping up its Capital District trip at Rensselaer in Troy, New York on Nov. 15. Quinnipiac will then travel to the North Country to face Clarkson in Potsdam, New York on Nov. 21 and St. Lawrence in Canton, New York on Nov. 22.

Quinnipiac's annual post-Thanksgiving series against the University of Massachusetts continues when the Bobcats host the Minutemen on Friday, Nov. 27 before traveling to Amherst, Massachusetts for a 7 p.m. game at the Mullins Center. Quinnipiac wraps-up the first half of its schedule when it hosts Dartmouth on Dec. 5 and Harvard on Dec. 6.

The Bobcats sit idle until just after Christmas when they take on ECAC Hockey travel partner, Princeton, at High Point Solutions Arena on Saturday, Dec. 27 and at Hobey Baker Memorial Rink in Princeton, New Jersey on Sunday, Dec. 28. The New Year opens in St. Cloud, Minnesota when Quinnipiac face St. Cloud State University for a two-game series on Jan. 2-3.

The following weekend welcomes Rensselaer and Union to High Point Solutions Arena on Jan. 9-10. The next weekend will feature Quinnipiac's final non-conference series of the season when it travels to North Andover, Massachusetts to face Merrimack on Jan. 16 before hosting the Warriors on Jan. 17.

After a bye weekend, Quinnipiac play the first of five-straight ECAC Hockey series to close-out the season. The Bobcats play at Brown and Yale on Jan. 30-31 and at Cornell and Colgate on Feb. 6-7, respectively. Quinnipiac is then home for the next two weekends when it hosts St. Lawrence on Feb. 13 and Clarkson on Feb. 14, followed by the Annual Heroes Hat Game against Yale on Friday, Feb. 20 and Senior Night against Brown on Saturday, Feb. 21. Quinnipiac closes-out the 2014-15 regular season at Harvard on Feb. 27 before its season finale at Dartmouth on Feb. 28.
