No. 20 Quinnipiac Men’s Lacrosse Ranked Seventh In LaxPower Power Ratings

HAMDEN, Conn. – The nationally-ranked No. 20 Quinnipiac University men's lacrosse team recently improved to 2-0 on the season and worked its way into seventh place on the LaxPower Power ratings, released on Sunday, March 3, 2013. The Bobcats went on the road to defeat Detroit Mercy this past weekend, now off to two straight wins to start a season for the first time since 2008.

The computer power rating for college lacrosse is based on margin of victory calculations, including a 10-goal limit constraint. In addition, predictions are made for the selection of teams to the men and women's NCAA championship tournament for Divisions I, II, and III, which is predicated on strength of schedule, ratings percentage index, quality wins, win-loss records, and polls.

The Tigers of Princeton University currently stand atop the poll, with Maryland, Cornell, Notre Dame and Yale rounding out the top five spots. Hofstra claimed sixth, followed by the Bobcats, North Carolina, Johns Hopkins and Ohio State which conclude the top-10.
