Quinnipiac Men’s Lacrosse Receiving Votes in USILA and Nike/Inside Lacrosse National Polls
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac University men's lacrosse team recently received votes in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) and Nike/Inside Lacrosse Media Polls, announced on Monday, March 11, 2013. Quinnipiac has worked its way into the polls at the strength of three road victories – marking the first time in program history with wins in each of their first three road games.
In the USILA poll, the University of Maryland earned 10 of the 11 first place votes and remained atop the census for the third straight week. Cornell was tabbed second in the poll, followed by Notre Dame, Johns Hopkins and Denver to round out the top five. UNC garnered the sixth spot and was trailed by Princeton, Loyola, Virginia and Hofstra to close out the top 10.

In the Nike/Insider Lacrosse Poll, Maryland garnered the top slot with all 22 first place votes. The Big Red claimed the second spot, followed by Denver Notre Dame, Johns Hopkins, Princeton, Syracuse, UNC, Hofstra and Loyola.

Brown and Fairfield joined the Bobcats in receiving votes in both polls. Quinnipiac defeated Brown, 9-7, in its season-opener and will play Fairfield next week.
Quinnipiac (3-0, 0-0 NEC) returns to the turf on Tuesday afternoon with its 2013 home-opener. The Bobcats will take New England rival and undefeated Providence College (4-0, 0-0 BIG EAST) at the QU Lacrosse Turf Field on Mount Carmel Campus. Faceoff is set for 3 p.m.
