Wilbur, Sagl Named to Northeast Conference Men’s Lacrosse 2013 All-Tournament Team

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Senior Brendan Wilbur (Hingham, Mass.) and sophomore Michael Sagl (West Islip, N.Y.) of the Quinnipiac University men's lacrosse team were named to the 2013 Northeast Conference Men's Lacrosse All-Tournament Team, announced on Saturday, May 4, 2013. Wilbur and Sagl paced the Bobcats attack in the semifinals against Robert Morris this past weekend.

Wilbur, now a two-time All-Tournament Team honoree after earning the accolade last year, scored two crucial goals late in the fourth quarter to keep Quinnipiac in the game. Just as the clock ticked under five minutes to go, Wilbur laced a shot into the bottom corner to pull the Bobcats within two of RMU. The senior attack needed just 33 seconds before striking again, as the Hingham, Mass. native hit the nylon a second time to cut the deficit to just one. Wilbur was second on the team in scoring this season (19 goals) and finished with 27 points in his last year with the program.

Sagl, an All-NEC Second Team honoree this year, was Quinnipiac's most dominant offensive player all season long and Thursday wasn't any different. The West Islip, N.Y. native notched a career high of seven points on four goals and three assists against the Colonials. Sagl's seven-point effort pushed him over the 50-point plateau for the season – the first player to accomplish the feat since the 2001 campaign. He was one of three players in the NEC to record 50 or more points this year; ranking third in points and assists per game and eighth in goals per game.
