Dylan Webster and Gill Conners Earn Weekly MAAC Major Awards

 EDISON, N.J. – Two senior class members of the Quinnipiac University men's lacrosse team - Dylan Webster (Brampton, Ontario) and Gill Conners (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) – have earned MAAC weekly honors for their performances this past weekend, announced Monday, March 3, 2014 by the conference office. Webster was named MAAC Offensive Player of the Week, while Conners was tabbed MAAC Defensive Player of the Week.

Dylan Webster was both efficient and crafty on attack for the Bobcats, and played crucial role in the 16-9 victory over Providence on Saturday. Webster netted a career high six goals while adding two assists for another career best of  eight  points. Webster scored twice in the first  quarter and twice in the second aiding an 11-2 lead at halftime for the Bobcats. He capped off his scoring summary with a goal apiece in both the third and fourth quarters. Webster's career day came due in large part to his efficiency with the ball. He took eight shots, seven of which were on target, and six of which found the back of the cage. He upped his career total to 58 goals and 20 assists in a Bobcat uniform.

Gill Conners stood on his head for nearly 57 minutes, and allowed Quinnipiac to coast past the Friars. The senior from Saratoga Springs, N.Y. finished with a season high of 19 saves, allowing seven goals on 26 shots faced. Conners made four saves in each of the first two quarters, stopped eight shots in the third and made three in limited action in the fourth. He posted a .731 save percentage and also snagged three ground balls in the triumph. Conners has 219 saves at Quinnipiac and a career .570 save percentage.  

Quinnipiac is back in action at Harvard University on Tuesday, March 4. Faceoff is set for 4 p.m. at the Ohiri Field in Cambridge, Mass.

Harvard is 1-2 on the season with losses to UMass and Albany. The Crimson's lone win came against Holy Cross, 17-9.
