Men's Soccer Announces 2009 Recruiting Class
Quinnipiac University men's soccer Head Coach Eric Da Costa has announced the addition of six players for the 2009 season. Phillip Surprise (Milwaukee, Wis.), Ryan Malki (Chicago, Ill.), Tim Quigley (Ridgefield, Conn.), Marijan Juric (Greenwich, Conn.), Greg DiGiovine (West Orange, N.J.) and Carl Stensland (Storrs, Conn.) will all attend Quinnipiac this upcoming fall.

The Quinnipiac University men's soccer team's spring-season game scheduled for Saturday, April 11 against Southern Connecticut State University has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions. Neil Shaka Hislop Named Men's and Women's Soccer Goalkeeper Coach
Quinnipiac University Director of Athletics and Recreation Jack McDonald and the men and women's soccer programs announced the hiring of Neil Shaka Hislop as an assistant coach for the 2009 season. Hislop's primary duties will be as the goalkeepers coach as well as assisting with defensive assignments. A former member of the Trinidad and Tobago National Team and Major League Soccer player, Hislop will be entering his first season of collegiate coaching this fall with the Bobcats.

ESPN Soccernet Lists Graciano Brito Among Top Senior Forwards
Graciano Brito (Sao Nicolau, Cape Verde) of the Quinnipiac University men's soccer team has been named to ESPN Soccernet's listing of the top 10 senior forwards in the country. Brito is listed as the sixth best senior forward in college soccer after finishing as the Northeast Conference Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. This season, Brito finished as the nation's leader in goals per game (1.0) and points per game (2.05).

Graciano Brito Named All-American By College Soccer News
Graciano Brito (Cape Verde, Sao Nicolau) was named a member of the College Soccer News All-American Third Team after leading the nation in goals per game (0.95) and points per game (2.05) this past season. This is the second straight year that a member of the Bobcats has led a national statistical category as goalkeeper Freddy Hall (St. George, Bermuda) led the nation in saves per game (7.38) and save percentage (.906) during the 2007 season.

Four Men's Soccer Players Tabbed For NSCAA North Atlantic Regional Team
Four members of the Quinnipiac University men's soccer team were honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America as members of the All-North Atlantic Regional Team. Two-time Northeast Conference Player of the Year Graciano Brito (Sao Nicolau, Cape Verde) was named to the First Team for the second year in a row. Juniors Shane Recklet (Shelton, Conn.) and Freddy Hall (St, George, Bermuda) were honored as members of the Second Team, while Fabricio Silva (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) was named a member of the Third Team.

Graciano Brito Named NSCAA/Adidas All-American
For the second consecutive season, Quinnipiac University men's soccer senior Graciano Brito (Sao Nicolau, Cape Verde) has been named an NSCAA/adidas Division I All-American. Brito was named to the Third Team after finishing the season leading the nation in goals per game (0.95) and second in points per game (2.05). This season, the Quinnipiac forward was also honored as the Northeast Conference Player of the Year for the second season in a row, becoming just the fifth player in conference history to win the award in back-to-back years.

Graciano Brito Invited To 2009 Adidas Major League Soccer Player Combine
Two-time Northeast Conference Player of the Year Graciano Brito (Sao Nicolau, Cape Verde) of the Quinnipiac University men's soccer team has been invited to participate in the Adidas Major League Soccer Player Combine. Brito was one of just 65 Division I seniors invited to take part in the five-day combine from Jan. 9-13 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Scouts and management from all 15 MLS teams will be present assessing talent for the 2009 MLS SuperDraft on Jan. 15 in St. Louis, Mo.

Men's And Women's Soccer Teams Honored For Academic Achievements
The Quinnipiac University men's and women's soccer teams were recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America with a Team Academic Award for the 2007-08 academic year. A team must earn a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or greater to be honored. Quinnipiac is just one of 61 institutions from across all divisions and the only school from the Northeast Conference to have both its men's and woman's teams recognized.

The All-Tournament team was revealed following Fairleigh Dickinson's 7-2 victory over Mount St. Mary's in the NEC Championship Game.

Quinnipiac University men's soccer senior Graciano Brito (Sao Nicolau, Cape Verde) was named the Northeast Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Year the conference today announced. This is the second consecutive year that Brito has been honored as the conference's top player and becoming just the fifth to win the award in back-to-back years. This year, Brito led the NEC in goals (18), goals per game (1.0), points (39) and points per game (2.17).

The Quinnipiac University men's soccer team fell to Fairleigh Dickinson University, 2-0, Friday afternoon in the semifinals of the Northeast Conference Tournament. The third-seeded Bobcats finish the season with a 10-5-4 mark. The Knights move on to play Mount St. Mary's in Sunday's Championship Game after defeating top-seeded Monmouth University, 3-2 on penalty kicks, in the day's first semifinal game.

Men's Soccer Takes On Fairleigh Dickinson In NEC Tournament Semifinal
Quinnipiac will square off with the Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday afternoon in the second semifinal of the 2008 Northeast Conference Men's Soccer Tournament. The Bobcats earned a berth into the tournament for the first time since 2004 with a 3-0 win over Mount St. Mary's in their final game of the regular season. Quinnipiac finished the season third in the NEC with 17 points and a 5-2-2 record. The Knights swept their final weekend of the season with two 2-1 victories against St. Francis (N.Y.) and Long Island to earn the No. 2 seed. Fairleigh Dickinson is the last team to defeat Quinnipiac this season as the Bobcats have gone six games without a loss (4-0-2).

Senior forward Graciano Brito (Sao Nicolau, Cape Verde) was named the Brine/Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Week the conference office today announced. This is the second consecutive week and fourth time this season that Brito has been honored by the NEC. His two goals, including the game winner, against Mount St. Mary's Sunday afternoon helped the Bobcats to a 3-0 win and a berth in the NEC Tournament for the first time since 2004.

Graciano Brito's (Sao Nicolau, Cape Verde) 18th goal of the year broke the program Division I record for goals in a single season while helping the Quinnipiac University men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Mount St. Mary's on Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 5-2-2 in the Northeast Conference, good for 17 points and the third seed in the NEC Tournament. They'll face No. 2 Fairleigh Dickinson in the second game of the afternoon, Friday, Nov. 14, in West Long Branch, N.J.

Men's Soccer Plays To A Scoreless Tie With Monmouth
The Quinnipiac University men's soccer team tied the Monmouth University Hawks, 0-0, Friday afternoon at the Quinnipiac Soccer Field. Freddy Hall (St. George, Bermuda) stopped seven shots to record his second consecutive shutout and sixth of the season. The tie pushes the Bobcats into sole possession of fourth place in the Northeast Conference at 4-2-2 in NEC play and 9-4-4 overall. With six teams still posturing for an NEC Tournament berth, Sunday's final day of league play will solidify the four-team field. Monmouth's mark now stands at 5-1-2 in conference play and 11-3-3 overall.

The Quinnipiac University men's soccer team enters its last weekend of the regular season riding a four-game unbeaten streak. The Bobcats dispatched the Saint Francis University Red Flash in Loretto, Pa., 2-0, Sunday afternoon. Graciano Brito (Sao Nicolau, Cape Verde) scored both Bobcat goals in the team's ninth win of the season. On Friday, the Bobcats tied Robert Morris, 1-1, on a Shane Recklet (Shelton, Conn.) goal in the 80th minute. The Bobcats are currently tied for third in the Northeast Conference with St. Francis (N.Y.) and Fairleigh Dickinson. Each team has 13 points and identical 4-2-1 conference records.

Dwayne Mars (St. Michael, Barbados) scored his second goal of the season in the 85th minute to break the scoreless tie before netting another just over two minutes later as Quinnipiac went on to win, 3-0. Graciano Brito (Sao Nicolau, Caper Verde) scored in the 88th minute against the Blackbirds and again on Sunday in a 2-1 loss to St. Francis (N.Y.).

Quinnipiac's Graciano Brito (Sao Nicolau, Cape Verde) scored his team-leading fifth goal in the win, improving Quinnipiac's record to 4-1-2 this season. The Lions dropped to 2-3-1 with the loss.

Quinnipiac travels to New York to take on Columbia on Friday afternoon. The Bobcats are winless in their last two games, tying Siena and losing to Yale. The Bobcats are 3-1-2 this season with the loss to Yale being the team's only defeat. Columbia is coming off a 2-1 double-overtime victory at La Salle on Sept. 17. The last time these two teams met was in October of 2006 when the Lions defeated the Bobcats, 2-1. Men's Soccer Inks Dominic Adams For 2008 Campaign

Quinnipiac University men's soccer head coach Eric Da Costa has announced that Dominic Adams (Scarborough, Trinidad and Tobago) will join the Bobcats for the upcoming 2008 season as a transfer. Adams comes to Quinnipiac after having spent last season playing at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma where he started 14 of 15 games. Adams scored three goals, while assisting on five others in his only season at USAO.
