HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University men's soccer team began its 2010 spring season Sunday afternoon against two opponents. The Bobcats played Post University in the morning before taking on American International later in the day. Freshmen Philip Suprise (Milwaukee, Wis.) and Marijan Jurac (Greenwich, Conn.) each scored goals, while newcomer and transfer student Leandro Reis (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) also scored in his first action with the Bobcats in the 3-0 win over Post.
In the day's second game, Quinnipiac easily defeated AIC, 6-0. Suprise netted his second of the day in the game, Reis found the back of the net twice against the Yellow Jackets. Juniors Nick Pelicaen (Schoten, Belgium) and Dwayne Mars (St. Michael, Barbados) also scored in the win. The Bobcats also benefited from AIC scoring an own goal in the game.
Quinnipiac will continue its spring season at Hartford on April 17 in a round robin format against the Hawks as well as Holy Cross. The Bobcats will conclude Spring play on April 24 against Manhattan at the Quinnipiac Soccer Field at 2 p.m.
