BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Quinnipiac University men's soccer team was defeated, 3-2, by Long Island University at LIU Field on Sunday afternoon. Quinnipiac's overall record now stands at 3-11-1, while its Northeast Conference record is 2-6. Long Island University improves its overall record to 5-10-1 and its NEC record to 3-5-1.

Daniels' (Bethany, Conn.) second goal on the year. Sophomore
Cavallo (Londonderry, N.H.) was credited with the assist on the
score, his first helper of the season.
Sophomore forward Philip Suprise (Milwaukee, Wis.) gave the Bobcats the early 1-0 lead in the 14th minute of play on his unassisted, third goal of the season. Surprise found an opening in the defense and drilled a shot from the top of the box that beat junior goalkeeper Adam Janssen.
Junior forward Steve Jakubowski netted his first of two goals in the contest just before halftime in the 41st minute of play, to bring the score to 2-1. On the play, he was assisted by senior forward Juan Lanza.
The Blackbirds tied the game, 2-2, in the 77th minute as sophomore forward Jakeem Johnson received a pass from freshman forward Paul Boehme and laced one by Quinnipiac sophomore goalkeeper Josh Lavallee (Upland, Calif.). The goal for Johnson was his team-leading seventh on the year, while the assist for Boehme was his third.
Jakubowski's third goal of the season was the game-winning goal, as his header in the 89th minute of play gave the Blackbirds the 3-2 lead. On the play, junior defender Nik Conklin picked up his second assist on the year.
Quinnipiac outshot Long Island 14 to 10 in the contest, but were unable to tally a goal in the second half against Janssen. Janssen made three saves on the afternoon while Lavallee made three saves for the Bobcats.
Quinnipiac returns to action for its final regular-season home games on Friday, Nov. 5 at 3 p.m. against Central Connecticut State University and Sunday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. against Monmouth University.
