Men's Soccer Announces 2011 Captains

HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac men's soccer head coach Eric Da Costa has announced the team's captains for the 2011 season. The squad will be led by junior captain Durval Pereira (Cheshire, Conn.), with sophomore forward Philip Suprise (Milwaukee, Wis.) and freshman defender Brandon Strain-Goode (Toronto, Ontario) serving as assistant captains.

Pereira will enter his senior season with eight goals and six assists in his career. He led the team in 2009 with four assists and finished tied for second on the team with eight points. Pereira's 2010 season was cut short due to injury, as he made one start in the season-opener on September 4th against Boston College.

Suprise finished the 2010 campaign as the team-leader in goals scored for the second straight year. The forward scored a goal in each of the season's final three games, including the first goal in a 1-1 tie against #11 Monmouth in the season finale on November 7th. Suprise saw action in 14 games making 13 starts. In two seasons with the Bobcats, Suprise has accumulated 12 goals and three assists.

Strain-Goode made quite an impact in his first season at Quinnipiac, as he logged the most minutes (1577) and made the most starts (17) among any player on the 2010 roster. The Toronto, Ontario native takes over as one of the team's defensive leaders, as three of Quinnipiac's starting back five will graduate in the spring.
