The Quinnipiac men's soccer team (5-7-0) (3-3-0 NEC) continues its Northeast Conference schedule this weekend when it travels to face Central Connecticut on Friday, Oct. 28 at 3 p.m., before returning home to face Long Island on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 2:30 p.m.

About Central Connecticut
The Blue Devils saw their five game winning streak come to a halt last weekend, when they fell to Sacred Heart, 2-0, on Sunday, Oct. 23. Overall, sophomore Jesse Menzies leads the squad with nine points (one goal, seven assists), followed by sophomore Eddy Bogle (four goals) and junior Reece Wilson's (three goals, two assists) eight points. In net, sophomore goalkeeper Anthony Occialini has accumulated a .788 save percentage to go along with his 1.04 goals against average.
All-Time Against The Blue Devils
Friday's contest will be the 13th time the two sides face each other, with Quinnipiac owning a 9-3 all-time series lead. In their last meeting on November 5, 2010, the Bobcats won in overtime, 4-3. Senior defender Pierre Soubrier netted the game-winning goal in the 93rd minute of play, capping of a strong game for Soubrier who contributed a goal and two assists in the victory. Sophomore William Daniels (Clackamas, Ore.), junior William Cavallo (Londonderry, N.H.) and sophomore Philip Suprise (Milwaukee, Wisc.) each scored for Quinnipiac. Sophomore Josh Lavallee (Upland, Calif.) made three saves in net for the Bobcats.
About Long Island
The Blackbirds are coming off a 1-0 loss to Central Connecticut on Thursday, Oct. 20. On the season, Senior Steve Jakubowski leads the squad with 10 points (four goals, two assists), followed by senior Rommel Forde's nine points (two goals, five assists) and junior Jakeem Johnson's eight points (three goals, two assists). Senior goaltender Adam Janssen has accumulated a .742 save percentage to go along with his 1.67 goals against average on the year.
All-Time Against Long Island
Sunday's contest will be the 13th time the two sides face each other, with Long Island leading the all-time series, 6-3-3. In their last meeting on October 31, 2010, Long Island came away with a 3-2 victory over Quinnipiac. Sophomore Philip Suprise and junior William Cavallo each scored for the Bobcats, but a late goal by Jakubowski (his second of the game) gave the Blackbirds the victory. Lavallee made four saves in goal for Quinnipiac.
Last Time Out
Quinnipiac fell to Mount St. Mary's in double-overtime, 2-1, on Sunday, Oct. 23. Junior Philip Suprise got the Bobcats on the board in just the second minute of play, scoring his team-high fifth goal of the season in the process. While the Mount would score to under six minutes later to tie the game at one apiece, neither side found the back of the net for the remainder of regulation. Sophomore Jimmy Ochford scored the game-winning goal in the 107th minute of play.
No Suprise Here
The junior striker has kept up a torrid pace offensively this season, scoring a goal in four of the team's last five games. Suprise currently leads the team with 14 points on the year, with five goals and four assists overall. Surprise is just two points away from his career-high of 16 points which he recorded during his freshman year.
Quinnipiac has been involved in 10 one-goal games this season, splitting those games with a 5-5 record.
Home Sweet Home
The Bobcats look forward to hosting Long Island on Sunday at Quinnipiac Soccer Field, where they are an impressive 5-1 record this season.
Following this weekend's games, the Bobcats will travel to face Sacred Heart on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. The Bobcats will play their final regular-season contest on their home field when they host St. Francis (N.Y.) on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m.
