Robbie McLarney Signs with Waterford United Football Club

HAMDEN, Conn. – Former Quinnipiac men's soccer midfielder Robbie McLarney (Londonderry, N.H.) recently signed to play professionally with Waterford United F.C. in the First Division of the League of Ireland. McLarney made his debut this past weekend playing 70 minutes against English Premier League Side Crystal Palace F.C. The Blues are currently in third place in their division, five points behind the league-leader, Athlone Town.

After a three year stint with BIG EAST power, Rutgers University, McLarney transferred to Quinnipiac for his final year of eligibility and made an immediate impact on the program. McLarney was named to the All-North Atlantic Third Team, the All-Northeast Conference Second Team, and selected Quinnipiac's Men's Soccer Player of the Year after helping lead the Bobcats to their first NEC Regular Season Championship in program history. McLarney led the NEC with seven assists on the season, which ranks him in a tie for ninth place on the Bobcats' all-time list.
