Men's Tennis Goes Undefeated In Day One At Bucknell Round-Robin

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Quinnipiac men's tennis team went a perfect 8-0 in the opening day of the Bucknell Round-Robin. John Hughes (Springfield, Mass.), Garrett Lane (Reading, Mass.), James Kwei (Dedham, Mass.), Tom Curran (Fairfield, Conn.), Joe Nuara (Little Silver, N.J.), Zach Tuckman (Kinnelon, N.J.), Charlie Feldman (Easton, Conn.) and Vinny Corvari (East Haven, Conn.) all won on Friday.

Hughes defeated Bucknell's Ryan Sandburg, 7-5, 6-1, in Flight #1 action, while Lane beat Connecticut's Joey Michaels, 6-3, 6-4, in Flight #2. Kwei made quick work of Wilkes' Wes McCollum, 6-0, 6-1, in Flight #3. Curran beat Ben Schueler from UConn, 6-3, 6-2, in Flight #4, while Nuara took care of Wilkes' Kyle Ungvarsky, 6-0, 7-6, in Flight #5.

Tuckman battled back from down a set to defeat Bucknell's Clark Bogle, 3-6, 7-6, 10-8, in Flight #6. Feldman defeated UConn's Matt Burns, 6-2, 6-3, in Flight #7, while Corvari defeated Bucknell's Greg Maxson, 6-4, 2-6, 10-7, in Flight #8.

The Bobcats resume Bucknell Round-Robin action Saturday.
