HAMDEN, Conn. Quinnipiac University sophomore men's tennis player Brian Mikkelson (Mequon, Wis.) has been named Northeast Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the league office today announced. Mikkelson went an undefeated 4-0 during the past week, winning twice each in singles and doubles. With the four wins, Mikkelson improved to 24-13 on the year, including an 8-1 singles record at the No. 2 flight in dual matches. He began the week with a three-set victory against Fairfield's Dan Sauter, 6-3, 6-7, 10-6, before making quick work of Lafayette's Doug Gallagher, 6-0, 6-0. He also paired with James Kwei (Dedham, Mass.) to win twice at No. 1 doubles.
