WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Sophomore Corey Morgenstern (Old Bethpage, N.Y.) clinched an opening round victory for the #2 Quinnipiac University men's tennis team on Friday afternoon, as the Bobcats defeated #7 Robert Morris, 4-2, in the Quarterfinals of the Northeast Conference Championships. The Bobcats, now 8-10 overall on the season, took the first point of the match in the doubles segment. Garrett Lane (Reading, Mass.) and Eric Ambrosio (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y.) were also leading in the No. 2 flight, but didn't finish the match because the Bobcats had already been awarded the point.

Morgenstern outlasted Kishan in a second-set tie-break, 6-4, 7-6 (9-7).
The Bobcats edged Monmouth earlier in the season with a 4-3 victory on the QU Outdoor Tennis Courts. With a win in the semifinals, the Bobcats will take on the winner of Fairleigh Dickinson and Sacred Heart/Mount St. Mary's.
