Men’s Tennis Suffers 7-0 Setback At Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Quinnipiac University men's tennis team suffered its second consecutive setback on Saturday afternoon, as the Bobcats dropped a non-conference match to Brown University, 7-0, at the Paul Bailey Pizzitola Memorial Sports Center in Providence, R.I.

In singles competition, sophomore Eric Ambrosio (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y.) put forth the best effort with a three-set loss at #3. Ambrosio took the first set, 6-4, but dropped the next two (3-6 and 6-10) for the team's third loss of the match. In other action, Sebastian Barbero (Buenos Aires, Argentina) was defeated by Michael Riechmann at #1, 6-2, 6-1; Fahoum Fahoum (Haifa, Israel) fell to Daniel Hirschberg, 6-0, 6-1, at #2; Luke Roser (Bernardsville, N.J.) fell to Mike Hill at #4, 6-2, 6-1; Devon Jerome (Stamford, Conn.) was defeated by David Neff at #5, 6-1, 6-4; and Alex Lazerowich (Stratham, N.H.) fell to Ivan Kravtchenko at #6, 6-1, 6-2.

Brown experienced similar success in doubles, taking #1 and #3 to solidify the point. Fahoum and Roser fell to Hill  and Riechmann at #1, 8-2; and Barbero and Chris Nelson (Scituate, Mass.) were defeated by Da Silveira and Hirschberg at #3, 8-1.

The Bobcats return to the courts this evening against Binghamton University in Providence, R.I. First serve is set for 5:30 p.m. at the Paul Bailey Pizzitola Memorial Sports Center.
