The Quinnipiac University men’s tennis team saw its 2013-14 season come to a close on Friday afternoon, as the Bobcats dropped a 6-1 decision to Monmouth University at the QU Outdoor Tennis Courts. Junior Eric Ambrosio (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y.) picked up the lone point in the Bobcat season-finale.

The Quinnipiac University men’s tennis team overcame an early deficit to defeat long-standing rival Sacred Heart, 4-3, at the QU Outdoor Tennis Courts on Monday afternoon. The Bobcats snapped a two-match slide with the victory, while improving to 7-5 in their last 12 meetings with the Pioneers.

The Quinnipiac University men’s tennis team dropped a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) matchup to Marist College on Wednesday afternoon, as the first place Red Foxes handed the Bobcats a 7-0 defeat at the QU Outdoor Tennis Courts.

The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men's tennis match between Quinnipiac University and Marist College that was scheduled to be played at the QU Outdoor Tennis Courts on Tuesday, April 8 has been postponed to Wednesday, April 9 at 2 p.m. In addition, Quinnipiac's match against Hartford that was scheduled for Thursday, April 10 has been cancelled.

One never would have guessed that the Quinnipiac University men’s tennis team hadn’t competed in over two weeks after Saturday’s match. The Bobcats cruised to their third MAAC win of the season, defeating Saint Peter’s University, 6-1, at the QU Outdoor Tennis Courts.

Friday’s Non-Conference Men’s and Women’s Tennis Doubleheader Postponed
The non-conference men’s and women’s tennis match between Quinnipiac University and Sacred Heart University that was scheduled to be played at the QU Outdoor Tennis Courts on Friday, April 4 has been postponed due to rain in the forecast. The women’s tennis match will now take place on Sunday, April 6 at 3 p.m. while the men’s match has been moved to Monday, April 14 at 3 p.m.

Quinnipiac Sweep: Ariana Launie and Kei Ezaka Named MAAC Tennis Players of the Week
The Quinnipiac University men’s and women’s tennis teams swept the MAAC Weekly awards as freshman Kei Ezaka (Ojai, Calif.) and junior Ariana Launie (Milton, Mass.) were named Players of the Week for the week ending on March 16, 2014. Ezaka and Launie performed exceptionally well on the teams’ annual Spring Break trip to Florida.

Men's and Women's Tennis Spring Break in Florida Blog - Thursday, March 13, 2014
The schedule for Wednesday, tennis wise, did not go as planned for the men’s team. We woke up at 7 a.m. to get ready for an early practice, however, as we were going to leave for practice it started to downpour. Coach Pappas said we would wait until the rain passed, so we could do fitness and start preparing for Valparaiso. At 11 a.m. we had our fitness session and we were ready to play tennis. Unfortunately, it started to rain again. We are going into tomorrow’s match without any practice, but it can possibly be a good thing because it gave us a chance to get some rest after Monday and Tuesday’s matches.

Quinnipiac University gave Creighton University all it could handle in Tuesday’s non-conference men’s tennis match in Orlando. However, despite wins at Nos. 2, 3 and 5, the Bobcats suffered a tough 4-3 loss to the Bluejays in the second match of their annual Spring Break trip.

After a long indoor season, we finally got to play outside, this time in Orlando, Florida, where the sun shines a little brighter. We started today with an early morning fitness session to get acclimated to the warm weather and get our blood flowing. With our practice session not being until 4 p.m., we had some down time to relax by the pool and take in the sun.

Ambrosio and Barbero each have two years of eligibility remaining and will look to guide the Bobcats back to the NCAA Tournament.

The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced the 2014 Men's Tennis Preseason Poll on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, as voted on by the head coaches within the conference. The Bobcats are coming off of great fall season and are in prime position to garner a fifth Division I title this spring.

Men’s Tennis Drops 2014 Opener at Brown, 5-2
Junior Eric Ambrosio (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y.) and freshman Kei Ezaka (Ojai, Calif.) each added wins to their season totals on Sunday, but the Quinnipiac men’s tennis team ran into a tough Brown squad as the Bears spoiled the Bobcats’ 2014 opener with a 5-2 win inside the Pizzitola Center in Providence. The Bears won two doubles matches and added four singles wins to defeat the Bobcats in the non-conference clash.

The Quinnipiac University men’s tennis team enjoyed some time off from competition, but is now ready to resume action and work towards its team goal – the 2014 NCAA Tournament. Quinnipiac University men’s tennis head coach Mike Quitko has announced that Julian Rozenstein has signed a National Letter of Intent and will be listed on the Bobcats’ roster for the beginning of the 2014-15 campaign. Rozenstein, who hails from Morganville, N.J., will look to make an immediate impact on the Bobcat rotation next fall.

Kei Ezaka (Ojai, Calif.), Patrick Sell (Neuenbuerg, Germany) and Eric Ambrosio (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y.) each advanced to the finals of their respective flights in singles, while Ezaka and his partner Ryoma Haraguchi (New York, N.Y.) advanced to the championship of Flight C Doubles.

Six Bobcats Advance to Semifinals; Men's Tennis Opens Play at 2013 UConn Invitational
A year ago around this time, the Quinnipiac University men’s tennis team was in great spirits after winning four of the eight singles flights at the UConn Invitational. On Friday afternoon, the Bobcats returned to their instate rivals’ tournament and picked up right where they left off last year. Quinnipiac advanced six players into the semifinals with several strong individual showings on the first day of the three-day invite.

Ezaka won the Flight A singles tournament in a three-set thriller to become the first Bobcat to win a singles tournament at the SB Invite.

Christopher Pappas Joins Men’s Tennis as Assistant Coach
Quinnipiac University men's tennis head coach Mike Quitko has announced that Christopher Pappas will join the men’s tennis program for the 2013-14 season as an assistant coach. Pappas is a USPTA Certified Professional and has over 20 years coaching and tennis teaching experience.
