NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac University men's tennis team closed out its 2013 fall season on Sunday morning, as the Bobcats concluded competition in the Connecticut State Championships at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center in New Haven, Conn.
Patrick Sell (Neuenbuerg, Germany) served as the lone Bobcat in action today, as he took on Wayne Harrell of instate rival UConn in the semifinals of his consolation flight. Despite a nice run against some fierce competition, Sell's run came to an end in a 6-1, 6-5 loss to Harrell. Sell wrapped up his fall season with an 11-5 record in singles play.
Quinnipiac finished with a 4-0 record in dual-match play, matching its best start since the 2009-10 season. The Bobcats won over 75 percent of their matches in singles and over 60 percent in doubles.
The Bobcats will take some time off over the next few months to rest up for their first spring season in the MAAC. Quinnipiac's next match is on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at Brown at the Pizzitola Center in Providence, R.I.
