Men's And Women's Cross Country Teams Ranked In Top 15 By USTFCCCA

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac University men's and women's cross country teams landed in the Northeast Region's Top 15 rankings by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The men's team is currently ranked 15th in the region after finishing second with 96 points at the Fordham Fiasco on Sept. 6 at Van Cortland Park. The women's team is ranked 10th after also finishing second at the same meet with 79 points

Quinnipiac's Chelsea Bollerman (Little Silver, N.J.) was named the NEC Athlete of the Week as well as the ECAC Division I Athlete of the Week following her third-place finish at Fordham's annual meet. The senior runner posted a time of 18:52.9 to help solidify the Bobcats' second-place finish.

The men's team had its best showing at the Fordham Fiasco with a second-place finish. The Bobcats were led by freshman runner Richard Klauber (Thomaston, Conn.). His time of 27:15.9 was good for 13th place in a field of 176 runners. For his efforts at the Fordham meet Klauber was named the NEC's Rookie of the Week.

Quinnipiac men's and women's cross country teams will race next Friday, Sept. 19 at the Monmouth Invitational in Holmdel Park, N.J. The men's race begins at 5:00 p.m. while the women's team runs at 4:00 p.m.
