Men's Cross Country Finishes Season Ranked 15th In New England
HAMDEN, Conn. The Quinnipiac University men's cross country team landed in the final New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association's weekly poll. The Bobcats finished the season ranked 15th in the rankings voted on the college coaches of New England. This season, the Bobcats never dropped out of the top 15 in the NEICAAA's weekly poll.
In Quinnipiac's final race of the season, the Bobcats finished 22nd at the NCAA Regionals at Van Cortland Park in the Bronx, N.Y. Freshman Rich Klauber (Thomaston, Conn.) was the top runner for the Bobcats, finishing 71st overall 33:53.
This season, Klauber finished as the team's top runner in each race, including a first-place finish at the Northeast Conference Championships on Nov. 1 in Holmdel Park, N.J. That finish secured Klauber the NEC Outstanding Performer and Rookie of the Year awards as the Bobcats won their third consecutive NEC Championship.
The Quinnipiac indoor track season begins on Dec. 6 as it compete in the Yale Invitational in New Haven, Conn.
