As a freshman (indoors):
Earned All-New England honors twice with the eighth-place DMR squad
on Feb. 23 and the 4x800m relay team on Feb. 24...ran a time of
9:02.89 in his first meet ever indoors at the Yale Season Opener on
Dec. 10...competed in the 800m and finished in 2:04.91 at the Yale
Collegiate Track Classic on Jan. 13...ran on the fourth-place
4x800m relay (8:14.52) at URI's Sorlein Memorial Indoor Classic on
Jan. 20...ran the opening 1200m leg on the fifth-place DMR squad
(10:14.90) that qualified for the IC4A[apos]s at the Terrier
Invitational on Jan. 26...set a personal record in the 3000m
(8:48.16) at the Terrier Invitational on Jan. 27...ran a
season-best time in the mile (4:23.11) and placed sixth at the URI
Men's Mega Meet on Feb. 2 while also competing on the 4x400m relay
team that placed third in 3:31.60...competed in the mile (4:30.25)
and the 3000m (9:08.19) at the NEC Championships on Feb. 10...ran
the 1600m anchor leg on the eighth-place DMR team which ran a
season-best time of 10:12.20 at the New England Championships on
Feb. 23...competed in the mile and finished with a season-best time
of 4:21.59 and ran a leg on the eighth-place 4x800m relay team
(7:50.49) at the New England Championships on Feb. 24...ran the
1600m leg on the DMR team which ran the second fastest time in
school history (10:04.09) at the IC4A Championships.
As a freshman (cross country):
Garnered NEC Rookie of the Week honors on Sept. 26 and Oct. 17...in
his Bobcat debut, finished 14th overall and third on the team at
the Stony Brook Invitational on Sept. 1 for navigating the 5k
course in 16:02.84...placed 48th overall and seventh on the team in
28:04 to help lead the Bobcats to a third-place finish of 19
schools at the Fordham Invitational on Sept. 9...finished 22nd
overall and sixth on the team in 27:26.7 to help the Bobcats win
the Quinnipiac Invitational on Sept. 22... placed 23rd overall and
eighth on the team in 27:07.7 at the NEC Championships on Oct.
28... finished 187th overall and seventh on the team in 36:47.6 to
help lead the Bobcats to a 16th place standing at the NCAA
Northeast Regional Championships on Nov. 11.
Before Quinnipiac:
Received four letters in cross country and outdoor track at
Juneau-Douglas High School and also played on the junior varsity
soccer team...was Alaska's individual state champion in cross
country his senior year...his high school cross country team was
state championships in 2003 and 2004 and his outdoor track team was
state champions in 2005...outdoors, was the state champion in the
800m and 1600m in 2005 and 2006 and holds school and regional
records in both events...was named the Alaska Gatorade Track and
Field Athlete of the Year in 2005 and 2006...was also a
Wendy[apos]s High School Heisman Award winner and a member of the
All-State Sportsmanship Team in 2004...named his team[apos]s MVP in
track his junior and senior years and in cross country his senior
year...recipient of the Alaska Scholars Award and was a member of
the National Honor Society...also named to the Regional
All-Academic team for cross country as an honor roll
student...volunteered with Alaska Youth for Environmental
Action...grandfather played minor league baseball.
Personal:
Born in Juneau, Alaska...son of Karen and John Dinnan...has a twin
brother, Wesley, who is running cross country and track at the
University of New Hampshire...is an undeclared health sciences
major.
