STONY BROOK, N.Y - The Quinnipiac University men's cross country team began its 2010 season with a fourth place finish at the Seawolves Invitational earlier today. Iona College came in first place in the 6k race.
"The team had a decent opener today," said Head Coach Carolyn Martin. "We have a solid group of guys and we're looking forward to a great season. Overall, we are looking to next week to run a better race."
Finishing first for the Bobcats, and in 12th place overall, was sophomore Brian Cotter (Huntington, N.Y.), with a time of 21:22.74. Crossing the finish line next for Quinnipiac was Mike Levene (Redding, Conn.) at 21:46.17. Closely following was Ryan Wolff (Mount Holy, N.J) with a time of 21:59.40. The fourth and fifth Quinnipiac runners to finish were Dylan DeNuzzo (Melville, N.Y) at 22:14.19 and Richard Stoliker (Shelton, Conn.) at 22:22.56.
The Bobcats are scheduled to run next Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Blue Devil Invitational in New Britain, Conn. at noon.
