MADISON, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University men's cross country team finished the year with a 34th place finish at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Northeast Regionals meet. The 10k race was hosted by Yale University and Fairfield University at Hammonasset State Park in Madison, Conn. on Saturday at 1:15.
Sophomore Mike Levine (Redding, Conn.) was the Bobcats' top finisher with a time of 33:28.1. The next Quinnipiac runner to finish was John Beckshaw (Medford, Mass.) in 34:36.6. The third runner to cross the finish line was Jacob Cetera (Chicago, Ill.) with a time of 35:08.4. The next runner to finish was Richard Stoliker (Shelton, Conn.) with a time of 35. 32.1, while John Healy (Middletown, N.J.) was the fifth Quinnipiac runner to finish in 35:33.7.
Northeast Conference opponent Central Connecticut State placed in 16th place, while Sacred Heart and Wagner finished in 27th and 28th respectively.
Syracuse University placed first in the men's race with 56 points, while Iona College finished in second with a score of 63. Both schools will advance to the 2010 Division I Cross Country Championships on Monday, Nov. 22 in Terre Haute, Indiana.
