HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men’s cross country freshman Spencer Mannion (Brookfield, Conn.) was named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, for the second straight week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
Mannion picks up his second NEC weekly honor after pacing the Bobcats at the 17th Annual Monmouth Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 17. The rookie led all Quinnipiac runners, for the third consecutive time this year, as he finished the 8k course in 24:47.5 for a sixth-place finish. Overall, the Bobcats placed eighth out of 14 teams at the meet.
Quinnipiac returns to action when it competes at the New England Championships on Oct. 8. at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
