BOSTON, Mass. – The Quinnipiac men’s cross country team placed 33rd out of 43 teams in the varsity race at the New England (NEICAAA) Championships on Saturday afternoon at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. Quinnipiac freshman Spencer Mannion (Brookfield, Conn.) led the Bobcats with a 68th place finish in 26:08. The University of Connecticut won the men’s varsity meet with 149 points, while Quinnipiac finished with a total of 823 points.

Sophomore Richard Stoliker (Shelton, Conn.) was the second Quinnipiac runner to finish the 8k course, placing 149th in 27:08. Senior John Healy (Middletown, N.J.) finished next in 27:30, followed by freshman Thomas Dextradeur (Branford, Conn.) with a time of 27:49. Senior Jacob Cetera (Chicago, Ill.) crossed the finish line in 28:32.

“I thought the men had a solid performance,” said head coach Carolyn Martin. “Despite not running our best times today, I still think our best performances are yet to come in the upcoming weeks.”

Quinnipiac was represented by two men runners in the sub varsity course and were therefore unable to score.

The Bobcats will compete at the Central Connecticut State Mini Meet on Oct. 21 at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, Conn.
