NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Senior Ryan Wolff (Mount Holly, N.J.) represented the Bobcat's men's cross country contingent at the Central Connecticut State Mini Meet on Saturday. Wolff was the lone Quinnipiac representative in the 5k event and finished in 78th-place overall as he crossed the finish line in 17:28.22.
"The whole team came out to support Ryan," said Quinnipiac men's cross country head coach Carolyn Martin. "It was great to see them really come together as a team and give him a life in today's race."
Wolff's finishing time bested his time of 18:12 at the 2011 CCSU Mini Meet and represents one of his best finishes of his career. Yale won the event with 26 points and was followed in second by the host, CCSU with 86 points.
Now the Bobcats shift their focus to the Northeast Conference Championship as they look to knock CCSU off the top-spot as they have won three-years running. The men's event begins at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Bryant University.
