LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Sophomore catcher Jordan Paolucci (Lake Mary, Fla.) of the Quinnipiac University softball team has been recognized with 2013 NFCA Division I Second Team honors, as voted on by coaches around the Northeast Region. It's Paolucci's second end-of-the-season accolade after taking home All-Northeast Conference laurels as well.
Paolucci didn't skip a beat after missing the 2012 season, collecting the most home runs (12) and RBIs (44) of any player in the Northeast Conference. In addition to her power numbers, she finished third on the team in batting average (.322) and on-base percentage (.401) to go along with a team-high slugging percentage of .611. Paolucci recorded a hit in over 90 percent of the team's games which also included a homerun nearly 23 percent of the time.
Her 44 RBIs this past season broke a single-season program record and she also became the first Bobcat to record multiple seasons with at least 10 home runs. She belted three grand slams this season with her signature moment coming on April 20 against Fairleigh Dickinson where she crushed a walk-off grand slam in the eighth inning to win it for the Bobcats.
