HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac softball team just announced their five-game weekend matchups playing at the University of North Florida Tournament in Jacksonville, Fla. have been cancelled due to inclement weather in Connecticut. The Bobcats were slated to take on Southern Ill., Savannah St. (twice), Troy, and the host North Florida from Friday through Sunday but the snowy conditions throughout Connecticut forced the team to cancel their flight. The UNF Tournament will still be played despite Quinnipiac's absence.
The Bobcats' 2014 season opener is now delayed two weeks until Friday, February 28 where they will travel down to Florida for the USF Under Armour Invitational. The Bobcats are slated for a five-game set where they will take on Oakland, Campbell, Georgia State, Western Michigan and Florida Atlantic from Feb. 28 – March 2.
