Tricia Fabbri Honored With WBCA Victory Club Award
Quinnipiac University women's basketball Head Coach Tricia Fabbri was honored as one of the recipients of the 2010 RUSSELL ATHLETIC/WBCA Victory Club Award. The award is presented to members of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) who achieved career wins of 200, 300, 400, 500 or more in increments of 100 this past season. Coach Fabbri recorded her 200th career victory on Dec. 29, 2009 with an 11-point win, 90-79, against Central Michigan in the Consolation Game at the Wyndham Miami Holiday Tournament.

Women's Basketball Falls To Long Island, 70-63, In NEC Quarterfinals
Junior Courtney Kaminski (Dudley, Mass.) scored game-high 23 points, but the Quinnipiac University women's basketball team fell to Long Island, 70-63, in the quarterfinals of the 2010 Northeast Conference Tournament held at DeGol Arena on the campus of Saint Francis (PA). The loss eliminates the Bobcats from postseason play and ends their season with a 12-18 overall record. Long Island will move on to face the winner of the Sacred Heart and Central Connecticut contest.

Courtney Kaminski Named To All-NEC Second Team
Junior Courtney Kaminski (Dudley, Mass.) of the Quinnipiac University women's basketball team was named to the 2009-10 All-Northeast Conference Second Team at the league's annual banquet Friday night. This is the second time that Kaminski has been honored with a postseason award by the conference as she was named to the All-NEC Rookie Team in 2006-07. After missing all of last season with an injury, Kaminski came back to start in all 29 games this season, leading the team in scoring at 15.2 points per game.

Women's Basketball Takes On LIU Saturday At 5:30 PM In NEC Quarterfinals
The Quinnipiac University women's basketball begins play in its 10th straight Northeast Conference Tournament on Saturday as the No 7 seed. The Bobcats will face the second-seeded Long Island Blackbirds in the day's third game, scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at DeGol Arena in Loretto, Pa. Saint Francis (Pa.) will serve as the host site for all of the NEC Tournament Quarter and Semifinal matchups. Quinnipiac earned the berth in the conference postseason with two wins in the final weekend of the regular season against Monmouth and Fairleigh Dickinson to finish 7-11 in league play.

Courtney Kaminski Named NEC Women's Basketball Choice Hotels Player of the Week
Junior Courtney Kaminski (Dudley, Mass.) of the Quinnipiac University women's basketball team was named the Choice Hotels Northeast Conference Player of the Week for her performances against Monmouth and Fairleigh Dickinson over the weekend. This marks the first weekly award by a member of the Bobcats this season as Kaminski's consecutive 20-plus point showings propelled her team into the 2010 NEC Tournament as the No. 7 seed. Kaminski has been honored by the league office once before in her career, claiming the NEC Rookie of the Week award in the final weekend of the 2006-07 season.

Women's Basketball Clinches NEC Tournament Berth With Road Win At FDU
Courtney Kaminski (Dudley, Mass.) compiled a double-double of 22 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Quinnipiac University women's basketball team to a 68-51 road victory at Fairleigh Dickinson and punch the Bobcats' ticket to the 2010 Northeast Conference Tournament. The victory puts the Bobcats at 12-17 overall (7-11 NEC), and pushed Quinnipiac into the No. 7 seed in the tournament. The Quinnipiac University women's basketball team remains alive in the hunt for the eighth and final playoff spot in the 2010 Northeast Conference Tournament with a 78-69 win Thursday night against Monmouth at the TD Bank Sports Center. Junior Courtney Kaminski (Dudley, Mass.) scored 25 points and senior Kathleen Neyens (Jaffrey, N.H.) added 21 as the Bobcats kept their postseason hopes intact, improving their NEC mark to 6-11 this season and 11-17 overall. The Hawks already had clinched a playoff spot prior to game and dropped to 10-7 in league games this season and are 15-13 overall. The win gives Quinnipiac the season sweep of Monmouth for the first time in program history.

Women's Basketball Plays In Miami Holiday Tournament Monday And Tuesday
The Quinnipiac University women's basketball returns to action at the University of Miami Holiday Tournament in Coral Cables, Fla., on Dec. 28 and 29. The Bobcats will take on the hosts from Miami at 5 p.m., on Monday in the first game of the tournament. Depending on the outcome of the game with the Hurricanes, Quinnipiac will then face either Texas or Central Michigan on Tuesday afternoon. This will be the second regular-season tournament of the 2009-10 campaign for the Bobcats, who finished as the runner-up at the Brown Bear Classic in Providence earlier this month.

Women's Basketball Cruises Past Yale, 75-59
The first double-double of the season for redshirt senior Kathleen Neyens (Jaffrey, N.H.) helped secure a 75-59 victory for the Quinnipiac University women's basketball team against Yale Monday night at the TD Bank Sports Center. Neyens finished with a team-high 16 points, a season-high 12 rebounds and a career-high six assists to help the Bobcats improve to 4-5 this season. Yale drops to 4-5 with the loss. The 16-point win also marks the 199th career victory for Head Coach Tricia Fabbri.

Junior Alyssa Jann (Westford, Mass.) came off the bench to score a career-high 13 points and redshirt junior Courtney Kaminski (Dudley, Mass.) added a game-high 17 as the Quinnipiac University women's basketball team defeated Maine, 68-59, Saturday afternoon at the TD Bank Sports Center. A late second-half surge helped propel the Bobcats to the nine-point win, improving their record to 3-5 this season. The loss was the sixth of the year for the Black Bears, dropping them to 2-6 overall.

Women's Basketball Picked Fifth In NEC Preseason Coaches' Poll
The Quinnipiac University women's basketball team has been selected to finish fifth in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll. The poll was announced by the league office Thursday morning in its annual preseason media teleconference. The Bobcats finished the 2008-09 season tied for third in the NEC standings with an 11-7 record in conference play and 18-11 overall. Defending champion Sacred Heart was tabbed first in the poll, receiving nine of the 12 first-place votes.
