Thursday's Game
The Quinnipiac University women's basketball team
continues Northeast Conference play on Thursday, Jan. 14 against
in-state rival Central Connecticut State at 4:30 p.m., at Detrick
Gymnasium in New Britain, Conn. The Bobcats enter the game having
won their last two contests and sporting a 3-1 NEC mark and are 8-7
overall. Quinnipiac won its third conference game of the season
Monday night against Fairleigh Dickinson, 71-62.
Scouting the Blue Devils

Career Day
Junior Lailah Pratt (Palmyra, N.J.) posted career highs in
points, rebounds and steals against FDU Monday night. Her nine
points were one short of a double-double as she also pulled down a
career-best 10 rebounds in the game. Her two steals were also a
career high as she had previously recorded one steal on nine
occasions.
Record Day
Quinnipiac's 22 assists in the win against FDU were a
season high. The Bobcats previously reached 20 assists this season
on Dec. 29 against Central Michigan at the Miami Holiday
Tournament. It was the second highest mark since joining Division I
in 1998-99. Quinnipiac owns the NEC mark for assists in a game with
36 set against Mount St. Mary's on Jan. 14, 2008.
Huge
Part Of That Record Day
Freshmen guards Ryann Simmons (Norwalk, Conn.) and Lisa
Lebak (Robbinsville, N.J.) each finished with seven assists against
the Knights. The seven assists were a career high for Simmons, who
had previously dished out four in a game twice. Lebak matched her
career best, while reaching the seven-assist mark for her third
game in a row.
Trying to Keep Pace
Senior Kathleen Neyens (Jaffrey, N.H.) and junior Courtney
Kaminski (Dudley, Mass.) have paced the Bobcats this season in
scoring. Kaminski's 14 points against FDU gives her 12 of 15 games
this season scoring in double figures. Neyens fell one point short
of her 12th double-digit scoring game of the season.
Second-Half Game
After not scoring a point in the first half, sophomore
Jacinda Dunbar (Edison, N.J.) went off for 12 in the second half.
Dunbar also pulled down seven boards in the game, just missing her
fourth double-double of the season.
Free
Throw Prowess
The Bobcats are the best free-throw shooting team in the
NEC at .742 percent. No team has gone to the line more than
Quinnipiac this season at 314 times. The Bobcats have also
connected on 36 more free throws than the second place team,
sinking 233 this season.
Return To Sender
The Bobcats put more space between themselves and the rest
of the league with six more blocks on Monday night. Quinnipiac is
averaging 4.53 blocks per game this season, nearly one more
rejection than any other team in the conference. Sophomore Jacki
Mann (Rutherford, N.J.) leads the NEC with 24, while Kaminski is
third with 20 in 2009-10.
Pull
It Down
Quinnipiac continues to lead the NEC in rebounds this
season. The Bobcats are averaging 43.1 boards per game with a
league-best 28.93 coming on the defensive end of the floor. Against
FDU, Quinnipiac had 19 offensive rebounds and 28 on defense for a
game total of 47, eleven more than the Knights' 36.
