The Quinnipiac women’s basketball team walked at the 2011 Fairfield County Start! Heart Walk, sponsored by the American Heart Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to “building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke,” on Oct. 15 at Sherwood Island Park in Westport, Conn.

Men's And Women's Basketball Hosts Hoops For Heart Health Clinic
The Quinnipiac University men’s and women’s basketball teams welcomed the Hoops For Heart Health organization to TD Bank Sports Center on Tuesday morning, a foundation founded by National Basketball Association (NBA) star, Ryan Gomes. Hoops For Heart Health is a not-for-profit association that was established to address the problem of Sudden Cardiac Arrest in high school, collegiate and professional sports. Quinnipiac’s men’s and women’s basketball teams are the first in NCAA Division I basketball to partake in the training session.

Fabbri Picked To Participate In Mock NCAA Selection Exercise
Quinnipiac University Women’s Basketball Head Coach Tricia Fabbri has been picked to take part in the NCAA’s Division I Women’s Basketball Mock Selection Exercise, to be held this Saturday and Sunday, July 16-17, at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Prior to the event, each of the 25 coaches selected to participate have been assigned teams and conferences to study up on. Over the course of the two days, the group will proceed through the selection process as the NCAA Women’s Basketball Selection Committee does each March.

The seventh-seeded Quinnipiac University women's basketball team (14-15, 11-7 NEC) will play No. 2 Monmouth University (21-8, 13-5 NEC) in a Northeast Conference Tournament Quarterfinal match-up on Saturday, March 5 at 3 p.m. at the Multipurpose Athletic Center in West Long Branch, N.J. The Bobcats played the Hawks to a 62-56 loss in its final game of the regular-season, Monday night. This will be the Bobcats 11th consecutive trip to the NEC tournament.

Quinnipiac University women's basketball senior Courtney Kaminski (Dudley, Mass.) and freshman forward Brittany McQuain (Independence, Mo.) received All-Northeast Conference honors, as announced by the league office on March 2. Kaminski was selected to the All-NEC First Team, while McQuain was named to the All-Rookie Team.

Quinnipiac University freshman women's basketball forward Brittany McQuain (Independence, Mo.) was selected as the Choice Hotels Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, for the second time this season, as announced by the league office Tuesday. McQuain led the Bobcats as they went 1-1 against Fairleigh Dickinson and Monmouth last week.

The youth group played an abbreviated game at half time of the Bobcats 77-65 win against the Mount. Women's Basketball Ranked Sixth In NEC Preseason Coaches' Poll
The Quinnipiac University women's basketball team has been selected to finish sixth in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll. The poll was announced by the conference office on Thursday morning in its annual media teleconference. The Bobcats finished the 2009-10 season in eighth place in the NEC standings with a 7-11 record in conference play and a 12-18 overall record. The Bobcats clinched a spot in the NEC Tournament for a ninth consecutive season in 2010. Senior center Courtney Kaminski (Dudley, Mass.) was selected to the Preseason All-NEC team.

Women's Basketball Volunteers With The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Walk To Cure Diabetes
The Quinnipiac University women's basketball team participated in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Walk to Cure Diabetes on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Quinnipiac's North Haven Campus. The Bobcats walked in support of Amanda Kenny, a camper of the Tricia Fabbri Basketball Camp, who has Type 1 diabetes. The JDRF is a worldwide leader for research to cure Type 1 diabetes and is one of the largest charitable funders and advocate of diabetes science worldwide.

Women's Basketball Head Coach Tricia Fabbri Signs Contract Extension Through 2014-15
Quinnipiac University Director of Athletics Jack McDonald has announced that Women's Basketball Head Coach Tricia Fabbri has signed a contract extension through the 2014-15 season. Terms of the contract have not been disclosed. Fabbri recorded her 200th career victory on Dec. 29, 2009 with an 11-point win, 90-79, against Central Michigan in the Consolation Game at the Wyndham Miami Holiday Tournament. Fabbri was honored with the 2010 RUSSELL ATHLETIC/WBCA Victory Club Award. The award is presented to members of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) who achieved career wins of 200, 300, 400, 500 or more in increments of 100 this past season. Fabbri also became just the fifth head coach in Quinnipiac Athletics history to win 200 games for their careers, joining former athletic director and men's basketball head coach Burt Kahn, as well as current men's and women's tennis head coach Mike Quitko, baseball head coach Dan Gooley, and men's ice hockey head coach Rand Pecknold.
