Women's Basketball Volunteers With The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Walk To Cure Diabetes
NORTH HAVEN,
Conn. - The Quinnipiac University women's basketball team
participated in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Walk to
Cure Diabetes on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Quinnipiac's North
Haven Campus. The Bobcats walked in support of Amanda Kenny, a
camper of the Tricia Fabbri Basketball Camp, who has Type 1
diabetes. The JDRF is a worldwide leader for research to cure Type
1 diabetes and is one of the largest charitable funders and
advocates of diabetes science worldwide.
Amanda Kenny is thirteen and from North Haven, Conn. She has been
a camper at the Tricia Fabbri Basketball Camp for the past five
years. This was the team's second year supporting Amanda and
participating in the walk with the JDRF.
The Bobcats will continue its support of the JDRF with a fundraiser
at its home Northeast Conference game against Central Connecticut
State University on Saturday, Jan. 15. at Noon.
