Goodchild connected on 4-of-6 three-point attempts, and added a team-high seven rebounds. Senior Courtney Kaminski (Dudley, Mass) added 13 points, while Brittany McQuain (Independence, Mo.), Jacinda Dunbar (Edison, N.J.), and Kaminski each picked up six rebounds. In addition, McQuain, Dunbar, and sophomore Felicia Barron (Springfield, Mass.) each recorded nine points in the defeat.
The Red Flash's Samantha Leach had a game-high 23 points, while Allison Daly and Brittany Lilley collected 16 and 10 points, respectively. Lilley completed a double-double with 10 assists.
Following nine lead changes and two ties, Daly's three-pointer with 2:25 remaining in the first half put the Red Flash on top for good. The Red Flash took a six-point lead, 36-30, into the half. Kaminski led the Bobcats with 11 points at the break, while Daly also had 11 points for the Red Flash.
The Red Flash used a 7-0 run early in the second half, capped by Leach's three-pointer at the 16:41 mark, to extend the lead to double digits, 45-35. The Bobcats would draw no closer than seven points the rest of the way, and Saint Francis extended its lead to as many as 15 points.
Saint Francis outscored Quinnipiac, 45.3 percent (29-64) to 36.1 percent (22-61) from the floor and 58.8 percent (10-17) to 57.1 percent (12-21) from the free-throw line. The Bobcats outshot the Red Flash from long range 47.1 percent (8-17) to 37.5 percent (9-24). Quinnipiac outrebounded Saint Francis, 43-39.
The Bobcats return to action when they play Long Island on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wellness, Recreation and Athletic Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
