Fox CT News Feature
The Quinnipiac women’s basketball team was featured
in a segment by Rich Coppola on Fox Connecticut on Thursday, Feb. 9
during the 10 p.m. broadcast. The piece highlighted the
Bobcats’ success thus far during the 2011-12 season.
Believe In Barron
Junior Felicia Barron has tallied a team-leading and
career-best 409 points this season. With six games still remaining
in the regular season, Barron looks to become the 18th player in
the QU women’s basketball program to break the 1,000-point
mark as she’s compiled 902 points in her career at
Quinnipiac.
Fantastic Freshmen
Freshman Jasmine Martin collected a career-high four
steals and her first block against FDU to help the Bobcats compile
19 steals in the outing.
Stealing Streaks
QU’s Felicia Barron continues to rule the nation in
steals per game (4.6) as she’s led the Bobcats’ efforts
to lead the league with 11.2 steals per game. Barron’s
career-high 12-steal performance against Bryant is tied at first in
the NCAA standings for individual game-highs. Overall, Barron has
made at least one steal in all 23 games this year and has compiled
106 steals on the year, which leads the QU Division I Single-Season
record for steals. Erin Kerner previously led the category with 78
steals during the 2005-06 season.
Road Warriors
Before playing FDU, QU had won 11 consecutive games on any
court besides the Bobcats’ home arena, the most since the
1983-84 season when Quinnipiac won 13-straight road games. The
Bobcats look to match the streak as they play their next two games
on the road.

Six Bobcats have put together more than 100 points this
year, including two freshmen in Jasmine Martin (247) and Samantha
