The Quinnipiac University women's basketball team will be one of 16 teams in the 2013 Preseason Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) this year. Quinnipiac will host North Carolina A&T in the opening round of the invitation-only tournament on Friday, November 8, 2013. Tip-off is slated for 5 p.m. at the TD Bank Sports Center.

Members of the Northeast Conference Championship women’s basketball team took a short trip to Wallingford on Friday, May 31 to interact with youngsters at E.C. Stevens School as part of Quinnipiac’s Positive Play initiative. Four student-athletes and staff participated in Field Day at the school, which included friendly sporting activities throughout the afternoon.

The Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team has been named the NCAA Division I Statistical Champion for turnover margin, which was officially released by the NCAA Statistics Department from Indianapolis. Evidenced by its 8.55 turnover margin, Quinnipiac boasted one of the most suffocating defenses in the nation en route to its first Division I NCAA Tournament appearance in program history.

The award is given to those individuals who contribute to the positive spirit of sports in Connecticut.

Women’s Basketball Finishes Seventh in College Insider Mid-Major Final Poll
The Quinnipiac women's basketball team finished their storybook season ranked seventh overall in the final College Insider Mid-Major Poll, announced back on Tuesday, April 11, 2013. The Bobcats were included in the census for 15 straight weeks over their 2012-13 season. Quinnipiac finished its season 30-3 overall, including being crowned the NEC tournament and regular season champions for the first time in program history.

The No. 13 seeded Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team fell short in the opening round of the 2013 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament to the No. 4 seed Maryland, 72-52, on Gary Williams Court at the Comcast Center in College Park, Md. The Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team earned its 20th win of the season on Wednesday night, as the Bobcats topped Central Connecticut State University, 63-53, at Detrick Gymnasium in New Britain, Conn. Quinnipiac, now 20-2 overall and 11-0 in the Northeast Conference, achieved 20 wins for the second consecutive season and for the seventh time in program history. It also marked the fourth time under the direction of head coach Tricia Fabbri.

Women’s Basketball Defeats Rider, 72-57, To Win Brown Bear Classic; McQuain and Martin Named to All-Tournament Team
Led by junior Brittany McQuain (Independence, Mo.) and sophomore Jasmine Martin (Sicklerville, N.J.), the Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team defeated Rider University, 72-57, in the championship game of the Brown Bear Classic at the Pizzitola Sports Center in Providence, R.I. on Sunday afternoon. McQuain and Martin each finished with 20 points in the game, guiding the Bobcats to their second in-season tournament victory in as many seasons. Junior Brittany McQuain was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the tournament, while Martin was named to the all-tournament team.

Quinnipiac Women’s Basketball Will Play Rider in Brown Bear Classic Championship, Sunday, Dec. 2
Quinnipiac will take on Rider University in the Championship round of the Brown Bear Classic on Sunday, December 2. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. Rider is currently 3-3 on their season after beating Brown University yesterday in the opening round, 57-47. The Bobcats continued their perfect 5-0 start to the year with a win over New Hampshire in the second game last night.

Women’s Basketball Defeats New Hampshire 60-53; Improves to 5-0 on the Season
Sophomore Samantha Guastella (Red Bank N.J.) scored a game-high 13 points and 2 blocks on Saturday afternoon as the Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team advanced to the championship game of the Brown Bear Classic with a 60-53 win over the University of New Hampshire at Pizzitola Sports Center in Providence, R.I. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 5-0 overall and will look for their second, in-season tournament victory in as many seasons tomorrow afternoon. Quinnipiac will take on Rider University, who advanced with a 57-47 win over the hosting Bears in the early game.

New Haven, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's basketball senior guard Felicia Barron (Springfield, Mass.) scored a team-high 16 points as the Bobcats defeated Yale, 89-62. Sophomore Samantha Guastella (Red Bank, N.J.) carried the Bobcats front court with 13 points and nine rebounds at the John J. Lee Amphitheater as Quinnipiac improved to 4-0 on the season.

For the second time in her illustrious career, head coach Tricia Fabbri and the Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team are off to a perfect 3-0 start after defeating the University of Rhode Island, 76-60, on Saturday afternoon in their home-opener at the TD Bank Sports Center. Senior Felicia Barron (Springfield, Mass.) led the Bobcats with 17 points and three steals and helped Quinnipiac improve to 4-0 all-time against the Rams.

The trio combined for 46 of Quinnipiac's 81 points in the non-conference victory. accounting for over half of Quinnipiac's final points against the University of Massachusetts. The Bobcats' 2-0 start drops Massachusetts to 1-2 on their early season. The win results in Quinnipiac's best start since the 2008 season.

Felicia Barron (Springfield, Mass.) led the Bobcats with 23 points, two assists and five steals en route to a victory to start her final season in Bobcats' uniform. Quinnipiac women's basketball opened the start of their season Sunday, November 11 at 1 p.m. at the Convocation Center on the James Madison campus. The Bobcats' 1-0 start drops JMU to 0-2 this year and marks their first loss at home since January 29, 2012, which came against Delaware. The win is also Quinnipiac's first season-opening win since the 2008 campaign.

Women's Basketball In Italy: Venice, The Sinking City
Today, the Quinnipiac Bobcats continued their travels to the sinking city of Venice, the third destination of the trip. The team departed from Florence early this morning taking a three hour ride northeast to spend the day touring Venice. The Bobcats viewed the architecture of the Byzantine dome cathedrals and the canals that run throughout the entire city. In order to get to Venice the Bobcats had to get on water taxi’s to make their way over to San Marco Square to begin our afternoon.

Women's Basketball In Italy: Bobcats Defeat All-Star Italia, 67-59
On the road again, the Bobcats began a journey to their next destination, Florence, Italy. Today the team spent most of their day traveling along the west coast of the peninsula into the “Tuscan wine country.” Student-athletes entered the beautiful countryside, much different from the city of Rome, which was filled with views of vineyards and olive trees. The team stopped at a local pizzeria and enjoyed a full, four course meal of fresh salad, pasta, chicken and fruit. As the game approached it was time to head to Tuscany, Montecatini Terme, to kick off the first game of the tour.
