New Haven, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's basketball senior guard Felicia Barron(Springfield, Mass.)scored a team-high 16 points as the Bobcats defeated Yale, 89-62. Sophomore Samantha Guastella (Red Bank, N.J.) carried the Bobcats front court with 13 points and nine rebounds at the John J. Lee Amphitheater as Quinnipiac improved to 4-0 on the season. 

Guastella's first half, in which she scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds gave the Bobcats a push to start the game. Coupled with a blistering performance by Jasmine Martin (Sicklerville, N.J.) down the stretch accompanied Barron's lead performance. Martin provided the Bobcats with a second-half spark, dropping all 11 of her points in the second frame. For the first half, Quinnipiac shot 42.1 % from the floor, as compared to Yales 26.9%, while also outrebounding the Bulldogs, 27-15, in the first frame as they headed into the half with a 14-point lead, 36-21. They would finish the game shooting 51.3%  from the floor while beating Yale on the boards, 48-31.

Nikoline Ostergaard (Vadbaek, Denmark) continued to improve on her sophomore season, collecting a career high of 12 points, three assists and two steals.  Junior Camryn Warner (Keene, N.H.) matched her season high of eight points, seven rebounds and four steals. Gillian Abshire (Washington, D.C.) paced the Bobcats offense with a solid all-around effort, finishing with eight points, eight rebounds and six assists.

The Bulldogs were led by starter Sarah Halejian, and from the bench Megan Vasquez and Amanda Tyson with 11 points apiece for Yale's backcourt.

The Bobcats open December at the Brown Bear Tournament hosted by Brown University as the Bobcats open against New Hampshire on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 4 p.m. at the Pizzitola Sports Center, in Providence R.I.  Depending on the outcome, the Bobcats will then take the court against Rider or Brown, the following day, Sunday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m.
