Dogs vs. Cats
The Bobcats will face the Huskies of Northeastern on Sunday, Dec. 30 with tip-off set for 4 p.m. at the U.S. Century Bank Arena in Miami, Fla. Northeastern is currently 6-3 overall in non-conference play and are 4-1 against the Bobcats all-time. 

Fun and Sun Classic
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Wildcats of Florida International will square off in the championship game on Sunday as well. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.

Scouting the Huskies
Northeastern enters the consolation game of the FIU Tournament with an overall record of 6-3 after the loss to Florida International, 66-56, in the opening round. The Huskies before Saturday's game were on a five game winning-streak, most recently defeating UMass and Holy Cross.   Senior guard Deanna Kerkhof leads the NU backcourt in scoring with 15.2 points per game, while power forward Jewel Tunstull (7.6 rpg) commands the team's front court in rebounding, including season-highs against Boston University with 18 points and nine rebounds. Kerkhof and Amencie Mercier tie for the team lead in steals with 20 snatches each, as Mercier has also dished out a squad-high 32 assists compared to 22 turnovers. In their last outing with the Wildcats, Kerkhof lead the Huskies with 22 points going 7-for-17 from the floor. Senior Kashaia Cannon added 14 points while Christine Harper chipped in eight points and four rebounds.

All-Time Against Northeastern
This match-up will mark the sixth meeting between the two programs as the Huskies hold a 4-1 record against the Bobcats.  The last time the two met was November 302003, in Boston, Mass.  Northeastern defeated the Bobcats, 74-49.

Last Time Out
Yesterday's match against Georgia Tech, the Bobcats fell, 57-74, at the Fun and Sun Classic hosted by Florida International.  Quinnipiac featured three players in double figures led by junior Brittany McQuain who provided 17 points, nine boards and four steals. Sophomore guard Jasmine Martin also collected 15 points, all in the second half of regulation to give Quinnipiac some light down the stretch.  Senior Felicia Barron also chipped in 10 points and added four steals.  Despite the back and forth affair between the teams,  the Yellow Jackets grabbed 54 rebounds to put up 27 second chance points, as the Bobcats recorded 32 rebounds to only five  second chance points.  Quinnipiac only shot 30.8 percent from the charity stripe going 8 of 26.  The Bobcats notched their second loss of the season, the first coming from Hartford on Dec. 16.

What's Ahead For Quinnipiac In January
The all-important Northeast Conference schedule starts five days into the New Year, beginning with a three-game home-stand at the Bank. The Bobcats welcome 2012 NEC Semifinalist LIU Brooklyn on Saturday (Jan. 5), St. Francis (N.Y.) on Monday (Jan. 7) and 2012 Champion Sacred Heart (Jan. 12). Other notable home games include, 2012 NEC finalist Monmouth on Monday, February 11, and Senior Day against Bryant on Monday, February 25. Both match-ups are set for 7 p.m. at the TD Bank Sports Center.
