Women’s Basketball Ranked Seventh in College Insider Mid-Major Poll

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's basketball team was ranked seventh in the most recent College Insider Mid-Major Poll, announced on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 by coaches on the committee. The Bobcats have been included in the census for 15 straight weeks now – with the most recent ranking serving as the highest in program history.

The College Insider Mid-Major poll featured Delaware in the top slot, taking 29 first place votes. Green Bay claimed second, the Bulldogs of Gonzaga garnered third, while Toledo and Princeton rounded out the top five. Other noteworthy teams include No. 24 James Madison, who the Bobcats defeated in their season-opener, and mentions of Hartford, who edged the Bobcats on Dec. 16th.

The top-seeded Quinnipiac University women's basketball team will host the fourth-seed Saint Francis U in Sunday's Northeast Conference Championship game at 5:00 p.m. nationally on ESPNU/ESPN3. Be sure to tune in to NEC Front Row Live! presented by Pilot Pen at 4:00 p.m. for the pre-game show, then come back once a champion is crowned for all the post-game festivities. Action on ESPNU will begin promptly with tip-off.
