Quinnipiac Women's Basketball Senior Forward Brittany McQuain (Independence, Mo.) was recently interviewed by AM1220 WQUN after being named Quinnipiac Women's Athlete of the Month for the second consecutive month. The interview will air prior to Quinnipiac's game at Marist on Friday, Feb. 14 at 5 PM. The interview can be heard at some point between 4-5 PM.
McQuain followed up a great December with an even better January. She was one of only three players in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference to average a double-double in January. In January she averaged 13.4 points and 10.3 rebounds. She also became the sixth player in Quinnipiac history to collect 100 career blocks with a block against Siena on Jan. 18.
McQuain has had quite the career since arriving in Hamden in 2010. McQuain has totaled 1,273 career points, 1,012 career rebounds, and 104 career blocks. She is one of only four players in school history to collect 1,000 career rebounds. McQuain is one of only three players in Quinnipiac history and the only player in Quinnipiac's Division I history to register 1,000 career points, 1,000 career rebounds, and 100 career blocks.
McQuain currently is 13th all-time in scoring. She is 34 points behind Collen Klopp '01 for 12th place on the all-time list. She is 38 points behind former teammate Courtney Kaminski '11 for 11th place on the all-time list. McQuain is 61 rebounds behind Jenn Hamilton '93 for third place on the all-time rebounding list. She is 15 rebounds behind Monique Lee '08 and Kaminski for fourth place on the all-time blocks list.
Quinnipiac takes on Marist on Friday, Feb. 14 at 5 PM in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The game will have a national audience as it can be seen live on ESPNU.
