Kevin Sokolski begins his first season with the Quinnipiac University women’s basketball team.
He spent seven seasons working with the men’s ice hockey team, serving as team manager and overseeing all video responsibilities, including video exchange and breakdown of game film over the course of each season. He was also instrumental in planning and coordinating of travel accommodations while on road trips, consisting of hotel reservations, transportation requirements, and team meals and coordinating ticket requests for all contests. Sokolski also supervised team managers at practice and home competitions.
Sokolski has also works with the Connecticut Sun of the Women’s Nationals Basketball Association (WNBA) as a WNBA Media Assistant since the summer of 2006. There he assists full-time staff in game day operations and player interviews, compiles game notes and distributes stats to media outlets.
He also has been a freelance writer for the New Haven Register since 2007, and the United States College Hockey Online.com (USCHO.com) since 2006.
Sokolski graduated from Quinnipiac in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in communications with a concentration in broadcast journalism and a minor in psychology. He also completed work toward a master’s degree in journalism in 2009 and a master’s degree in public relations in 2010.
He has been involved in volunteer work as well. He helped to raise $30,000 for St. Baldrick’s Children’s Cancer research and aided a $9,000 donation for Autism Speaks.
A native of Rocky Point, N.Y., Sokolski now lives in Hamden.
