Women's Golf 11th After First Day At Northeast Conference Championship

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Quinnipiac University women's golf team currently sits in 11th place, out the 11 participating teams, at the Northeast Conference Women's Golf Championship at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. The three-day event ended on the first day with Fairleigh Dickinson, Sacred Heart and St. Francis (Pa.) occupying the first three spots.

Freshman Jennifer Forlenza (Wayne, N.J.) was the Bobcats' top finisher on the NEC's first day. Forlenza sat tied for 41st, out of 54 golfers, with a personal-best 92 (+20) through the tournament's first 18 holes. Brianne Tansey (Nashua, N.H.) currently sits in 47th place with a 94 (+22), matching her career-best, which she also carded on the first day of Columbia's Roar-EE Invitational last weekend. Amanda Nagel (Greenwood, Minn.) was tied for 49th with a 97 (+25).

Following FDU, Sacred heart and Saint Francis on the leaderboard were Robert Morris (331), Wagner (334), Monmouth (336), Mount St. Mary's (341), Long Island (345), Central Connecticut State (345) and St. Francis (N.Y.) (371) with Quinnipiac (411) sitting in 11th place.

Plays resumes at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. on Friday, April 22, with the final round of 18 holes to be played on Saturday, April 23.
