Women's Golf Remains In 11th After Second Day of Northeast Conference Championship

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Senior Brianne Tansey (Nashua, N.H.) shot a team-best 92 on the second day of the Northeast Conference Championships at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. Tansey closed-out the day as the Bobcats' top finisher, while also carrying a team-best two-day total. Quinnipiac currently sits in 11th place out of the 11 teams that comprise the NEC Championship field.

Tansey's 92 combined with the 94 that she shot on Thursday, April 21, give her 186 (+42), good for 45th overall out of 55 golfers. Amanda Nagel (Greenwood, Minn.) turned in a 98 to go along with her 97 from yesterday for a 195 (+51), good for a tie of 46th with teammate Jennifer Forlenza (Wayne, N.J.). Forlenza's 92 yesterday led the Bobcats through the first round while her 103 today give her a combined 195 (+51).

The top six spots on the NEC leaderboard remain the same after the second day of the play as Fairleigh Dickinson (622, +46) leads the field, followed by Sacred Heart (654,+78), Robert Morris (657,+81), Saint Francis (Pa.) (658,+82), Wagner (659,+83) and Monmouth (674,+98) held their spots through two days. Long Island (681,+105) and Mount St. Mary's (694,+118) flipped spots while Central Connecticut State (694,+118), St. Francis (N.Y.) (741,+165) sit in front of Quinnipiac (832,+256).

The Northeast Conference Women's Golf Championship's final round begins on Saturday, April 23 at 9 a.m. at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
