DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Quinnipiac women's golf team continues to lead Mount St. Mary's and St. Francis (N.Y.) at the 2012 Northeast Conference Championship at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. The Bobcats remain in ninth place, out of 11 NEC teams, after two rounds.
"We had a pretty good day," head coach John O'Connor said. "We're all very excited and proud to be ahead of Mount St. Mary's and St. Francis. We're a team of walk-ons competing against established programs and holding our own, and I'm so proud of our athletes for competing"
Kayla Ketcheson (St. Andrews, Manitoba) led the Bobcats once-again, replicated her first day score with an 82 (+82). Ketcheson was solid on the front nine, paring seven of the nine holes with a double-bogey on the fifth hole and bogey on the eighth. The back nine proved more challenging for the junior as she shot a 43 (+7) down the stretch. Ketcheson sits tied for 27th out of 54 golfers at the event.
