Freshman Leadership

The freshman tandem of Jenn Whaley (Farmington, Conn.) and Krissy Unger (New York, N.Y.), combined with veteran Kayla Ketcheson (St. Andrews, Manitoba) have combined to post the four best 18-hole rounds (Dartmouth Invitational, Rd.2, 328; Dartmouth, Rd. 1, 329; Tignanelli Towson, Rd. 2, 338; Tignanelli Towson, Rd. 1, 342) and two best tournament finishes in program history (Dartmouth, 657; Tignanelli Towson, 680).

Where There's A Wha(ley)...
Freshman Jenn Whaley (Farmington, Conn.) re-wrote the Quinnipiac record books in the first two tournaments of her career. On the first day of the Tignanelli Towson Invitational, Whaley broke the Quinnipiac freshman record with a round of 81 (+9). The record did not last long as she shot a 78 (+6) on the first day of the Dartmouth Invitational, while also carding the first Eagle in program history. On the final day of the Dartmouth Invitational, she shot a 76 (+4) for the lowest round in program history, while also finishing the tournament with the best tournament score (154,+10) and the first Top-10 finish in program history.

Quite The Ketch
Entering the season, Kayla Ketcheson (St. Andrews, Manitoba) had done her own revisions to the Quinnipiac Women's Golf record book. After a difficult first round at the Tignanelli Towson Invitational in which she fired off the highest school of her Bobcat career (94, +22), Ketcheson responded with an 83 on the second day. At the Dartmouth Invitational, she opened play with the best round in Quinnipiac history (78, +6), finishing roughly 10 minutes before Jenn Whaley came through with the identical score.

Nice Tune-up Round
Sophomore Jessica Rotell (Cheshire, Conn.), in preparation for this weekend's tournament and the team's qualifying round, sunk a hole-in-one at The Farms Country Club.
